Ok. Going out tonight but realized something. Been trying to regiment my leisure time and RP time along with my work time. Especially since work and commute time cuts so much into it, and clearly not used to arranging everything around a full time work schedule yet. Plus family problems and bitching at home have further aggravated me, and kept me tense, and sorry for anybody I've been short with. To people who've been clamoring for threads, please be patient. Hard to focus on some of my characters, and I've clearly been projecting that urgency to other people. Trying to relax but sometimes RP's been feeling like something else I need to do which isn't good. Anyway, just wanted to pass this along.

Long day at work. Long since slow through much of the day, and then suddenly calls left and right at the end of the day. (Seriously, is there a secret meeting where everybody decides, 'oh end of the day! I better call with this super complicated problem!')

Anyway, finally able to make some headway on my Netflix since I got my dvd player configured with the TV in my room. No cable hook up but that's ok. At least I can watch movies on this now.

And oh shoot, I meant to head downstairs to watch Countdown. I want to see Keith Olbermann's comments to Bush getting shoes thrown at him. :D Good thing I get the podcasts too.

Your result for The RPG Class Test...

Smart Paladin

56% Combativeness, 20% Sneakiness, 76% Intellect, 67% Spirituality

Valorous! Noble! Or possibly just a self-righteous jerk (but with the brains to keep you alive!)... You are a Smart Paladin!

Paladins are holy warriors. They are valorous defenders of the light. Unfortunately, most of them are so ardent in their defense they tend to meet sticky ends faster than you can say "rampaging red dragon." Many people look up to Paladins, while others just consider them stuck up, overbearing, or self-righteous.

Fortunately for you, unlike most Paladins, you're pretty smart. Which means that you're more likely to fall into the "admired" category, rather than the "obnoxious" or "dead" categories.

Much like the crusades, you manage to combine violence and religion, though unlike the crusades, you add a healthy does of intelligence. You may be a staunch defender of the faith, a valorous champion of the weak, or the stuff that jihads are made of. Which ever one you are, just be happy that you've got the smarts to back it up and make it work.

I will spare you some flailing on Heroes, but eeee. Nathan you're lovely but why why why? (Also writers? Thank you for retconning some of S3 weirdness, now stop with the OOCness for some characters and stay back on track, please? Thanks.)

Today was slow, slow, slow and phones were acting funky some. I really wanted to just stay under warm covers this morning with reading more of Inkheart. Also the dog's been taking to snoozing by my feet more lately. And when she doesn't, the cat sometimes does. It's really sweet.

Sooo back home in NJ. Driving down to DE or even driving two hours wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. (Helps that most of the drive had light traffic though!) 95 around Christiana Mall was crazy, hardly a surprise there with so many from PA and NJ who are coming down for tax free shopping. But at least the fact I was borrowing one of my parents' GPS helped a hell of lot. (I want to buy one but dunno if I'm getting one for Christmas so have to wait.)

Visiting with Fi (Kate) and her family was cool and fun, lovely place. Last night was Chef! (OMG it's Gary Bakewell! Yaaaay!) and Fraggle Rock night of tv watching, and guinness goes lovely with fish and chips. And walking around Rehobath Beach was nice, and found some great hard to find presents for my parents which is good.

Definitely want to travel more often now I got the means to do so. :D
Hoping people are having good weekends and snugs and comfort to those who aren't.

Just had two cups of coffee and some light breakfast. I really need to update this and check my f-list more often. Yes, fail I know. Been busy with my job now. Though yay for four day weekends. And got more coming up for Christmas and New Years.

*snugs to a lot of you out there since yeah, it's been sucky times lately* I'm really thankful for having a job and being able to help out my parents with bills and groceries since it's been really hard for them. Trying to save some money for an apartment, but only been able to set aside a little as the rest is going to bills and expenses. Like the new glasses I just got. (Thank god for vision plans because omg, lenses especially are expensive when you got sucky eyesight like mine) Anyway, to fellow Americans, Happy Thanksgiving. To Canadians, hope yours last month was a good one. To the rest of the world, uh hope your day is good.

Ok, guys, seriously? What's going on with RPGs these days? This is not just one, but several. Less people in the chatrooms regularly, and seeing more and more untagged threads, or threads where the same group all tag each other. Why do some people get tons of threads and others have to beg with a tin cup for tags?

SNAP OUT OF IT!

I'd like it to make people's responsibility to tag untagged threads, or go outside your comfort zone and tag pups and muns you usually don't. RPG chatrooms really aren't that scary or even big lots of the time, if anything? They're half dead!

I know people got their own groups of friends and everything but come on, it's not high school it's RPG. Supposed to have fun, and people are starting to get frustrated and want to leave. Some already have for feeling the same way. Invite more ppl in, whether they're older or younger muns.

And remember, only you can prevent tagless EPs.
whisper2ascream: (Coffee time is sacred)
It's been some months... how about an update? Heh. Already had some coffee, mmm... caffeine.

Anyway, I completed my graduation application and sent the school more money so I can get my frickin' diploma already. Got a couple more weeks to go with the internship and then I'll be all done. Good thing too, since the campus is an utter MESS with all the construction work going on, and now the major Shore route that goes through the middle of campus has been shut down for sewer line repairs.

And looking for full time work... (hey if anybody needs a broadly oriented person with computers, business and political background for consulting, web design/development, or analysis, hi, I want to work.) Also since I need a working car, and part time salary isn't cutting it for making car payments. Unless I can get something in the 1000-2000 range which is um pretty sad. :(

Title: Amidst the trees, I'm always with you.
Author: Whisper2AScream
Pairings: Kate/Will

Kate was silent as she looked out the plane window, watching the setting sun light make the ocean water glitter like gold. Her legs neatly folded to the side in the private jet, deep in thought. She had gone back and forth about this trip in her head for some time. Considering whether to do so or not. Might not be the same. But when her research came across the place in mention, she felt she needed to see it. She had to. Wouldn't be much longer until the plane would touch down, the rest of her journey to continue on the ground. There was already a rental car and driver set up to take her to the town.

Passing through customs seemed a minor matter with her family's connections, and anyway, she was traveling light. There was one more thing to carry, but she was going to get that here. She was quiet in the car as well, other than confirming the destination with the driver. Yes, she knew it was an out of the way spot, and yes, she knew of the stories of the place. Her reasons for going were a private matter, and then there was no more discussion as her blue eyes took in the countryside that slowly gave way to distant green. Sherwood's green, dressed in her spring finery as she thought of green eyes filled with magic and love gazing back at her. Eventually the car came to a spot, and she headed to a small church within Blidworth. To where three yew trees came together, and a small stone lay underneath. Almost like the branches cradled it carefully. Sherwood, still watching over her guardian and keeping him safe.

Kate came forward with the bouquet in her hands, and very carefully knelt down to lay it before the stone. She then laid her hand on the stone, her eyes damp with tears that slowly slid down her cheeks. Whispering some words to the cold stone, to the green branches that gently blew in the breeze.

I love you.

She then got up, and wiped her eyes as she turned around to leave.

A priest came up to briefly pause her with a tentative hand on her shoulder, "Are ye well, miss?"

She nodded, and just quietly replied, "Just paying my respects."

Ok, for those who haven't finished their Christmas shopping yet? Please for the love of God, AVOID THE MALL if you possibly can. It's insane. There's lines all over the place, and it's like an obstacle course. Especially once you're weighted down with packages. I had to go to the card shop three times. Why? Ok, line of thinking went something like this:
1) Gotta get cards for friends... finds some, yay, get in line, pays, leaves.

Walks around, realize presents work better when they're wrapped.

2)Go back to the store, find gift wrap and name tags, get in line, pays, leaves.

Walk around again, and then remember one of the whole points of coming over to the mall was cards for the parents.

3)Go back to the store AGAIN, find cards, get in line, pays, leaves.

HALLEJULAH, done!

Our college was doing free shuttle service to the mall today, so that was a good deal there. But when I got back on the bus to head back to campus, the bus driver was pulling the bus around, and then had to come to a stop.

You know why? Because there was some idiot double park in the middle of that lane of parking lot. The driver honked his horn repeatedly but THEY WOULDN'T MOVE. I got up from my seat to look, and then noticed something to my left. (Was sitting toward the right). There was a car pulling out of a spot right there. (The idiot in the white car in the middle of lane was waiting on a freaking parking space, just because it was close to the freaking Sears store, and didn't want to lose it! And it's not like there weren't spots further back, they were just being lazy and didn't want to walk that far.) Around the middle of bus or so, and having a hard time maneuvering since the bus was stuck there. Finally the one car pulled around left, the moron in the white car zoomed around the bus for their precious space, and we got the hell out of there.

And people wonder why there's so much stress during the holidays?
whisper2ascream: (Has a penthouse there.)
Ok, when last entry is from over a month ago, not so good. I fail. :(

Been busy with classes, work, and Milliways. Got to check out Faeriecon last month in Philadelphia. Very, very cool. Met Charles Vess, and got my copy of Peter Pan (which he had illustrated) personalized and autographed. yay. Very nice man by the way. I just wish I had found my copy of Stardust to bring along. And while I was waiting in line, a troupe of Green Men all dressed up stopped by to sing a ballad in his honor. Amazing!

And so many were dressed up, even for a smallish convention. Fun day.

In more recent news, Thanksgiving was all right. Mostly quiet, and came back early to work on some things. Also, Santa came down Fifth Ave so NOW it's time to break out the holiday music. Not before. You hear me, retail? Trying at least waiting until after Halloween, will ya? And note, not everybody's crazy enough to get up at the crack of dawn to shop, so have a heart for your likely overworked workers, huh?

Wow, once again I fail with updating on posts... doh!
Um, yeah, thermostat got fixed a few days after I wrote that last entry. Also the light in our room. It's sooo cool, before we had to tape the switch to keep it off? Noooow we can actually turn it on AND off! oooh! *turns sarcasm mode off*

Sooo, class was cancelled, wooo. So get to check out a lunchtime discussion on the 2008 election. Bigger wooo there.
Still got work. Woe there. But I get done a bit earlier than my other day, woo yet again.
Just got some readings for tomorrow, some of which I finished already. Plus, they're showing
Blades of Glory
in the Student Center tonight for 50 cents. Hmmm?

Think it's worth it? Pretty cheap. Anybody seen it?
whisper2ascream: (Default)
Ok, you might have seen or not. But been updating my journal with some pictures. Still tinkering with it since it does seem a bit messy still. My CSS skills are still kind of ehh... (Used to Dreamweaver for this.) For anybody wondering, the background pictures are from this year's Philadelphia Flower Show, where they had an Irish theme this time around. Yay!

In other news, living in NJ = crappy lungs. I really gotta see about getting better Clean Air policies in this state after I graduate. This is crazy. I cough too much.

We're still waiting on facilities or maintenance to take care of our busted thermostat so we're not getting cold air blowing up the vents all the time, especially since we don't need it when the temps are getting cooler outside. Supposed to have inspection of the campus apartment sometime soon but no word on that either.

Also, James Bond's watch? :D

c. One of his/her worst traits.
d. How easy/difficult I find it to write the character.

Gotta love when reality and fandom collide.

New toy! I'd love to clean with one of these. And you could have the coolest working con costume!
